BRAT diet for a recovering gut:
Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast (dry)

Drinking fruit juice makes diarrhoea worse, and so do drinking milk and eating dairy products.
The best things to drink are: tea, water, Gatoraid and ginger ale.
Dehydration is a problem when you have either diarrhoea or vomiting.
Drinks that are ice cold make the symptoms worse.
Pushing fluids helps with hydration. This includes eating chicken broth and jello.
People typically don't drink enough.
If you vomited recently, taking a few sips of water is enough.
If it has been a few hours ago, then a cup at one time is all right.
If the vomiting won't stop, ask your doctor to prescribe Zofran or Phenergan to stop the nausea and vomiting.
